Reinvent The Wheel

Round is nice, but we can do better!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post a quick message about my first published article in the Blaise Pascal Magazine (issue 21).

My article is the first in a series on motion-based input technology (such as the Kinect or the PrimeSense controllers), and begins by discussing options in terms of hardware (Kinect versus ASUS Xtion PRO Live) along with a relatable example of how these devices can be used in “real world” software, rather than just games.

Put a lot of effort into illustrating this article, too… going so far as to produce full 3D renderings (each original image took over 35 minutes to render, on an 8-core CPU)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the article, particularly the announcement of the new name of the project formerly known as “TKinect”.
